Challenge: Launch massive-scale enrollment while maintaining scientific rigor and accessibility standards
Outcome: Established digital design foundation for largest precision medicine database in U.S. history
Led participant experience design during critical first 3 years of nation's $2 billion Precision Medicine Initiative, establishing the foundation for dual-platform digital ecosystem serving both everyday Americans enrolling in research and academic investigators accessing the dataset. 9-year sustained program engagement demonstrates design system resilience at government scale.
Designed researcher-facing platform explaining data access, dataset structure and tools for institutional partners. Created UX showcasing data details and highlighting what other researchers are doing with the data to drive academic engagement.
Established ADA-compliant design patterns across all touchpoints and trained team of 20 on accessibility standards. Created reusable design patterns ensuring consistent, accessible experiences across the entire ecosystem.
